Wool and silk needle felted textile art picture, 10"x8", "A distant island", mounted, unframed

This textile art picture is of a coastal island viewed from the beach. The picture has been created using strips of coloured silk fabric blended with wool and silk fibres, which have been needle felted to a felt base. The background is created using strips of silk fabric blended with wool and silk fibres. The island, cut from a piece of handmade felt has then been added and silk fibres used to create the surf. Birds above the island have been stitched on with black thread. The needle felting process binds the fibres and fabric together without the need for stitching and adds texture to the surface of the picture.

The picture has been mounted using a black and white card mount, dimensions given below. It is sold unframed.
