Wool and silk needle felted textile art, "Sunset at the Beach", mounted, unframed

This textile art picture is of the sun setting over the sea. The picture has been created using strips of coloured silk fabric blended with wool and silk fibres, which have been needle felted to a felt base. The background is created using strips of silk fabric blended with wool and silk fibres. The headlands have been cut from a piece of handmade felt has then been added and silk fibres used to create the surf. The rising sun and associated colouring of sky and sea has been created using woollen fibres. The needle felting process binds the fibres and fabric together without the need for stitching and adds texture to the surface of the picture.

The picture has been mounted using a black and white card mount, dimensions given below. It is sold unframed.
