Needle felted textile hoop art, "Grazing sheep"

This lovely woollen textile picture of sheep grazing in the fields has been needle felted using woollen fibres and a barbed felting needle. The fibres have been needle felted to a piece of backing felt. After creating the basic background, details of the tree and sheep have been added and a few of birds stitched on using thread. The resulting picture has been mounted in a 6" (15cm) diameter embroidery hoop and the reverse of the picture has been covered using a piece of white commercial felt.
