Needle Felted Standing Fox

This sculpture of a fox has been made from woollen fibres using a needle felting technique. A core of white woollen fibres has been used to form the basic shape which has then been covered ('painted') with fox red fibres with darker fibres used for the legs and to add highlights to the tail and back.

The legs of the fox have been made over a wire base to provide strength and stability and a wooden dowel inserted to aid mounting. The fox has been given a bushy tail and his whiskers are made from horse hair.

The fox has been mounted on an oval base which has been covered in artificial grass.

The fox measures approximately 26cm long x 13cm tall. The mount is 15cm x 9cm.

Please note: this fox is intended as a collectable or ornament. It is not suitable as a toy for children due to small parts and possible loose fibres.
