Mini needle felted fox

This woollen sculpture of a fox has been made using a needle felting technique. A barbed felting needle is used to bind and sculpt woollen fibres into a firm shape. White core fibres form the basic shape after which a top coat of red fox coloured wool fibres is added. The fluffy tail and legs have been made over formers to add strength and stability, the eyes are beaded and a plastic nose has been added.

The fox has been mounted on an oval wooden base covered in artificial grass. The fox stands approximately 9cm tall and 16cm long (nose to tail).
