Daisies, needle felted textile art, framed

This picture featuring cheerful white daisies in a purple vase has been needle felted using silk fabric, silk fibres and wool felt. The background, made using a piece of pink silk fabric, has been overlaid with shimmering silk fibres and needle felted to a felt base material. The purple vase also uses a piece of silk fabric needle felted into place and then the daisies have been added using hand made wool felt. The needle felting process binds the fabric and fibres to the backing felt without the need for stitching. In addition to binding the fabrics and fibres, the needle felting creates a beautiful texture to the surface of the picture.

The final piece has been framed in a wooden frame with a picture area of approximately 4.5" x 5". Please note, photographs of the framed piece have been taken with the glass removed to avoid reflections.
